Cory McIntyre, Senior Consultant
Cory McIntyre is a strategist, executive coach, and systems-builder with deep expertise in executive district leadership, board governance, and special education and student services systems design, drawing on more than 25 years of experience leading school districts across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and beyond.
His path to TeamWorks moved through nearly every layer of district leadership: school psychologist and director of student services roles across Rochester Public Schools, the Hudson School District, and North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale; executive director and assistant superintendent of student services at Anoka-Hennepin Schools; superintendent of Osseo Area Schools from 2019 to 2023, where he led successful operating and technology referendums; and superintendent of Anoka-Hennepin Schools, Minnesota’s largest school district, since 2023, where he leads the mission and vision of 38,000 students and more than 5,000 employees.
As a member of the TeamWorks team, Cory brings his executive leadership experience to strategic and tactical planning, board governance and alignment, and special education and student services system design, including Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). He is equally equipped to provide executive coaching for superintendents and cabinet teams and to support operational and financial planning, including referendum and budget strategy. Cory’s distinct strength is pairing large-district executive command with deep, hands-on expertise in special education and student services — a combination that lets him see a district’s systems from both the boardroom and the classroom, and build trust with stakeholders who don’t always agree. He has served on the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Special Education and the Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA) Board of Directors, and facilitated the Association of Metropolitan School Districts (AMSD) superintendents’ meetings for several years.
Cory holds Minnesota licensure as a superintendent, director of special education, K-12 principal, and school psychologist.
He completed his superintendent and principal certification at the University of Minnesota and his director of special education certification at the University of Washington, Tacoma. He holds a Master of Science in Education with a specialist certificate in school psychology from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Biology from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He is an active member of the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) and the Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA).
