Akram Osman - Associate Consultant

Akram Osman, Associate Consultant at TeamWorks, is a strategic thinker, purpose driven, and culturally responsive school leader. Akram brings passion, experience, and commitment to improving school communities one school at a time. He believes in the importance for school leaders seeking continued growth through executive leadership coaching, leadership team development and designing systems that are intentional and focused on improved outcomes for all scholars.

Akram brings nearly 15 years of experience as a cultural liaison, soccer coach, teacher, assistant principal and principal. Akram has designed and led professional development sessions for school district leaders and principals that build adults’ capacity and knowledge in order to improve outcomes for all scholars. He believes in creating learning environments where all students are seen, heard, respected, and valued. Such an environment requires high levels of trust, collaboration, and courage.

Beyond the school walls, Akram’s influence reaches the community. He has provided leadership at both the state and local levels. He has served as the Hennepin Division President for the Minnesota Association of Secondary Principals (MASSP) and remains active in supporting principal colleagues locally and throughout the state. His most recent leadership involvement in Minnesota is co-leading professional development opportunities specifically designed for leaders of color who are members of the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) and Minnesota Elementary School Principals’ Association (MESPA).

Akram currently serves as the Mankato East High School principal. Previously, he has served as a middle school principal at Dakota Meadows Middle School and high school principal at Bloomington Kennedy High School. Akram also has experience serving as an Associate Principal at Eden Prairie High School, and as a Dean of Students and Associate Principal in the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage Public Schools.


Akram started his career in education as a cultural liaison in Mankato Area Public Schools, and his first teaching assignment was as a special education teacher. Akram has a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, a Master’s degree in Special Education, and a Specialist’s degree in School Administration from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
